Arden Plast, smart and eco-friendly industry packaging

Based in Mouzon in French Ardennes, Arden Plast has just completed an investment of 3 million Euros to strengthen its production. It will be present as an exhibitor at the ALL4PACK industrial packaging fair in Paris at the end of November.

The company, created in 1986, specialises in the design and production of packaging and explicit protection in cellular polypropylene (PPEA) in small and medium series, mainly for industry (automotive, pharmacy, cosmetics, metallurgy, etc...) but also for prestigious cultural institutions and administrations (National Archives, Musée du Quai Branly, French National Library, Paris City Hall, etc...).

Propyflex, the PPEA manufactured by Arden Plast, has specific characteristics that are very beneficial for customers. It is printable, washable, reusable, lightweight and rigid, resistant to shocks and tears, inert to fats and certain chemicals and food. Yet it is also fully compatible with a circular economy, being reusable for years, 100% recyclable, and product design is inexpensive (100% of production rejects are reused).

Arden Plast controls the entire production chain. It handles its own design, extrusion (production of PPEA plates and rolls), cutting (by its sister company Ardenca), shaping, as well as the recovery of products delivered for recycling. This gives it important know-how and means it can be agile and responsive.

In order to take up production capacity a notch and to conquer new markets, 3 million Euros have been invested in a 4th extrusion line, to extend the industrial site by 1,400 m², to reorganise the flows and to redevelop the premises (creation of a showroom and reorganisation of the offices for better efficiency and also comfort). Arden Plast also has a new visual identity and a new website.

This investment is part of an ongoing global strategy initiated in 2012 and the takeover of the company by Benoît d'Harcourt, with a long-term vision and territorial stability. This strategy is bearing fruit and Arden Plast is back on the scene. In five years, the turnover has been doubled to attain, with Ardenca, € 20 million in 2017 and it currently has 65 employees.

In recognition of this strategy, BPI France invested in Arden Plast in 2017.

Like Arden Plast, the plastics companies of French Ardennes are innovating to adapt to environmental constraints and to address the needs of their customers.
