Arthur France Coussin, comfort solutions made in Ardennes
Specialising in tailored interior design and cushion manufacturing, Arthur France Coussin, based in Neufmanil in the Ardennes, is one of the last french manufacturers still in operation.
The company was established in 2008 as the result of the acquisition of two companies by Pascal Cressaut: Arthur, a manufacturer of padded bags for creative hobbies, and France Coussin, a manufacturer of cushion fillers. From 2010 onwards, the company has experienced considerable commercial growth led by the manager's daughter, previously an international purchaser within the industry. The company is gradually relocating all of its activities to the Ardennes, on account of its strategic position, which grants it convenient access to the European market and the region's renowned expertise in the field of textiles.
Within a few years, Arthur France Coussin increased its workforce from 2 to 10 employees and is increasing its production capacities with the acquisition of new machines. A short time ago, the addition of a 3rd production line enabled it to fill the equivalent of around 400,000 cushions per year. In order to face up to foreign competition, the company puts great emphasis on the quality of its raw materials and its responsiveness. As a matter of fact, Arthur France Coussin works with a wide range of fabrics and both synthetic and natural fibres (in particular the feathers of the Vendée duck), favouring French suppliers and managing all production stages from order preparation to dispatch.
Arthur France Coussin has become the supplier of major home decoration brands, wholesalers, haberdashery stores, and more recently of paramedical industry (filling of breastfeeding cushions or anti-pressure sore cushioning). Since 2015 private individuals have also been able to purchase their products, thanks to the setup of a store directly located in their production hall.
Proud of its Ardennes-based production, Arthur France Coussin supports the local and sustainable development of the territory, while also getting involved in professional integration.
