CEVA Technologies: innovation in plastics
CEVA Technologies, company based in French Ardennes since 1997 (its 20th birthday will be celebrated in 2017), manufactures technical and visible parts for many sectors (automotive, industry, construction, energy, rail, lighting, paramedical, childcare, leisure, etc.).
Founded by the directors of a local metalworking company, La Fonte Ardennaise, to create complementarity and to diversify into new markets, CEVA Technologies has taken on a prominent position among SMEs in industry in French Ardennes. Innovation is key for this company which has positioned itself on international markets by including its clients in the design process and also by sometimes using bio-sourced materials to create its plastics.
With a full production tool (injection presses, 5 or 6-axis robots, etc.), the result of an ambitious investment policy (2 million euros over 2016-2017), CEVA Technologies has successfully positioned itself within the parts manufacturing market, both for industry and the general public, whenever plastics injection includes the design of parts, as part of a well-monitored economic approach (taking into account the overall cost from raw materials to manufacturing, including operational design). Their clients are also in the Ardennes, including Nexans, Carbody and Arden-plast. More than 60 million pieces or 400 tons of injected materials are manufactured every year.
3D plastic printing is also an advanced technology, used for prototyping, and CEVA Technologies is fully associated with the Platinium 3D additive manufacturing regional platform, based in Charleville-Mézières.
CEVA Technologies’ success in the Ardennes shows that investment, whether in industrial facilities or in staff (both of which are indispensable), makes it possible to gain market share and to develop in an increasingly competitive world.
