Hanon Systems – of which Hanon Systems Charleville SAS is an affiliate – recently celebrated 30 years of operation. Established in 1986 as Halla Climate Control Corp. (HCC), the company was formed as a joint venture between Ford Motor Co. and Mando Machinery Corporation. In 1999, HCC became part of Visteon; and in 2013, Visteon integrated its climate business with HCC to form Halla Visteon Climate Control Corp. (HVCC). In June 2015, Visteon sold its majority ownership interest to an affiliate of Hahn & Company, and Hankook Tire Co. Ltd., and the company changed its name to Hanon Systems.

Since its foundation, Hanon Systems has grown in size and global scope, and today is a full-line supplier of automotive thermal management solutions. Recently, Hanon Systems has been named as a 2016 Automotive News PACE Award finalist for two innovations in the product category: The centrifugal air compressor and a deodorizing air conditioning technology that incorporates an ultraviolet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) with a photocatalyst. The company's sales revenue also has grown to KRW 5.56 trillion, and its global network of 40 manufacturing facilities and four R&D centers employ more than 15,500 people around the world.

The French facility – Hanon Systems Charleville – manufactures automotive thermal management components. The company's product portfolio includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units; evaporator cores; heater cores; water charge air coolers; air induction systems. Employing approximately 600 permanent employees, Hanon Systems Charleville is one of the most important employers of the area, just as the automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen. The automotive industry, with its high quality standards, is the heart of the French Ardennes economy.
