A new company established in the Ardennes: BBR (Boudin Blanc du Rethélois)

Ardennes Développement, the economic development agency for the Ardennes, has the pleasure of announcing the launch of the company B.B.R. (Boudin Blanc du Rethélois), which the agency helped to establishing itself in the Ardennes.

This new company, founded in Sault-les-Rethel by M. Frédéric Chaudré (already a director of the company, “Tout un plat”, in Warmeriville in Marne), specialises in the manufacture of products from the Ardennes, including the traditional Rethel white pudding (Boudin Blanc de Rethel) with the label IGP (indication géographique protégée = protected geographical indication), which it is to sell under the brand name, “Le Rethelois”, as well as other products, every bit as appetising, which will be sold under the brand, “Traditions des Ardennes” (pastries and delicatessen-style products, Reims ham, Le Mazarin Gourmand, dishes cooked within the Ardennes region).

Three members of staff have already been recruited and have commenced production. The workforce is to increase to around ten or so by the end of 2016.

This new company serves to reinforce the sector for the processing of food and agricultural products, which is one of the strategic sectors that were defined upon the launch of the agency. The action on the part of Ardennes Développement is being carried out in conjunction with several partners, who all contributed to the establishment of this company, among them the district of Rethel, the Ardennes department, Banque de France…
