Based in Sedan in French Ardennes, Tarkett offers innovative flooring which contribute to the well-being and quality of life of its customers, whilst committing to sustainable development.

On a plot of 165,000m² with 65,000m² of buildings, the Ardennes site produces 30,000 to 50,000m² of rolls or slabs per day. In Sedan, 55,000 rolls and 8,000 pallets of slabs can be stored before being distributed. Run by Bertrand Malet, the Sedan-based company employs 285 people and includes a training centre which offers training on installing the various floor coverings which are made there.

In 2016, the Group launched “FloorInMotion”, a smart connected floor which is capable of detecting falls or intrusions, coupled with a warning service, used to ensure elderly customers’ safety and well-being. The vinyl floor under which the frame is installed is manufactured by the Sedan plant, which contributes to the "silver economy".

With more than 34 industrial sites in more than 100 countries and more than 12,000 employees, Tarkett is the world leader in flooring solutions. The group sells 1.3 million square metres of flooring (vinyl, linoleum, laminate, carpet, synthetic turf, etc.) worldwide (of which 43% is exported) every day. Mainly intended for professionals (70% of sales), Tarkett’s products are used in homes, shops, sports and health facilities.

One of the 4 objectives set out in its 2017-2020 strategic plan is leadership in terms of design, innovation and sustainable development. Tarkett, which has already received a Circular Economy Trophy in 2015, has an active CSR (corporate social responsibility) policy based on high-quality materials (which won’t harm human health or the environment), optimised resource management and recycling. Its ReStart® programme, in partnership with Veolia, aims to offer a more competitive and complete recycling service to construction companies.

A true centre of excellence for the Tarkett Group, the French Ardennes site is helping to make this century-old company a key player in the sector with products which combine performance, design and technology.
