EiSINe: engineers for the industry of the future

On 16 April 2019, the CNESER (National Council for Higher Education and Research) approved the request by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne to create a new engineering school specialising in industrial and digital sciences (EiSINe), which will be located in Charleville-Mézières in French Ardennes.

Resulting from the transformation of the Institute of Higher Education (IFTS) in Charleville-Mézières, this new school will offer to train engineers in the field of industrial and digital transition. Obviously, additive manufacturing for industry, performed with the use of the Platinium 3D platform, will be one of the strengths of these courses. It was already a URCA / UTT partner, and this will be integrated into the new curricula.

Starting in September 2019, two new apprenticeship engineering degrees will be opened up in partnership with the Champagne-Ardenne ITII:

  • Materials and Process Engineering (product design, modelling, production means, additive manufacturing, etc...)
  • Electrical Engineering and Robotics (electrical engineering, automated production integrating new technologies, robotics and industrial cobotics, etc...)

A third specialty in "Maintenance 4.0" is planned for the start of the year 2020.

In general, besides the technical skills, these engineers will also be able to lead and communicate both internally and externally (national and international clients), to co-ordinate and simultaneously manage people and different techniques, with very tight costs and deadlines for the success of a joint project. 75 engineers per year will graduate from EiSINe, mainly as apprentices, in order to adapt the training to the project of the company and to the learner.

This new engineering school, which will be set up on the new Charleville-Mézières campus, complements the training offer in French Ardennes and meets the needs of local industry, already turned into the industry of the future.
