CME Chaudronnerie: Metal in every form

On the basis of its 20 years’ experience, the Ardennes company CME (CME stands for sheet metal work, mechanical welding and equipment) is developing to meet new requirements from its customers.

CME specialises in the production of mechanical assemblies in the sheet metal and mechanical welding realm such as metal moulds for the concrete industry, platforms, ladders, conveyors, dismantling platforms, tanks, vibrating tables, piping, etc. It offers its customers global management of their projects, including the development of specifications, manufacturing, monitoring of technical partners and on-site assembly.

Having been established in Nouzonville since 2017, the Ardennes VSE has invested a lot in human resources (regular training of its employees and recruitment of apprentices) and techniques (press brakes, spray booths, overhead cranes, work platforms, next-gen welding stations, roller benders, etc.). Recently, it has also equipped itself with a high-capacity laser cutting machine for positioning itself in new markets and to optimise its precision and productivity (machining without further work). Supported with this by Ardennes Développement, this project (an investment of around €500,000) was financially supported by the Grand Est Region as part of the Grand Est Compétitivité scheme.

Through the various investments in recent years, the manager Serge Vanello aims to guarantee provision of a quality service (finish, deadlines, etc.) and to make the workstation environment safer for employees. Because of their reliability in these areas, CME is now recognised by large international groups, such as Valéo, Danone, Vélio, with which the company works regularly. Above and beyond its technical products for manufacturers, CME is also creative. They produced the XXL 3D lettering for the cities of Sedan and Sainte-Maxime for example.

Sheet metal work is part of the industrial DNA of the Ardennes. It also runs “Sheet metal working” training courses ranging from CAP to BTS diplomas via the Bac Pro at Greta des Ardennes and at the Pôle Formation UIMM Champagne-Ardenne (CFAI). Dynamic and efficient, CME Chaudronnerie proves that this historic know-how is still relevant and that there are many outlets for it.
