Amphenol Air LB connects industries
Subsidiary of the US group Amphenol, Air LB France offers interconnection solutions for many sectors: aerospace, defence, rail, energy, medical...
Created in 1958 under the name Air LB, this SME was bought in 2000 by Amphenol Corporation, global leader in connectivity, which has annual sales of USD 6 billion and employs 48,000 people worldwide.
In 2014, the company with 270 employees combined its two production sites of Carignan and Blagny into a new building of 8,400 m² in the Wé area, near the Belgian and Luxembourg borders. This investment of 11 million Euros has enabled it to increase the size of the plant by 50% and optimise its production tooling to meet continued business growth (+9.5% in turnover between 2014 and 2015).
Indeed, the company acquired new moulding and overmoulding presses and recruited 38 people. In addition, the working conditions of employees and compliance with environmental standards were improved. In 2015, their performance in terms of innovation, product quality and timely delivery in the pursuit of "operational excellence" was recognised with the 2015 Award for best supplier from Airbus Electrics.
According to Nicolas Battung, General Manager of Amphenol Air LB, the Ardennes is perfect for industrial implementation and development due to its central position in Europe, its skilled workforce and the stable environment.
More than a real estate project, this new industrial tool has reinforced the Ardennes site of the US group and allowed Amphenol Air LB to strengthen its innovation capacity and support for its customers.
