DELTA DORE, a Brittany-based manufacturing company writing a beautiful history in French Ardennes
In June 2018, Delta Dore, the French pioneer within the home and connected buildings market, installed its Delta Dore Moteurs (DDM) unit in French Ardennes, in Revin.
When SAI, the company that once purchased Electrolux was forced to close its electric motor production unit in French Ardennes, a partnership for the development of new electric motors with Delta Dore was already in advanced stages, with a view to automating the home control products within its range.
All of this work will not be lost, since the management of Delta Dore decided to continue the project by resuming work at the Revin site, with 23 employees and 15,000 m² of production facilities.
The 1st step was to make the site autonomous, by fencing off, repairing and separating the networks from those operated by Electrolux, with a view to meeting Delta Dore's own requirements. Ardennes Développement and the Ardenne Rives de Meuse Community of Communes assisted the company, to facilitate its establishment in French Ardennes. The second step focused on the finalisation and qualification of the products, the adaptation of the highly automated production line and the training of personnel. Cooperation with their development colleagues based in Brittany has enabled them to make the motor reliable.
In production since February 2019, the assembly lines enable the manufacture of several hundred motors per day. The motor for roller shutters produced in the Ardennes rounds of the Delta Dore product range to perfection, and is an integral part of the group's strategic development, which centres specifically around the "Made in France" label! Incidentally, the group attended the CES in Las Vegas to present its innovative products.
Some important highlights worth noting: a monthly sales record already serves as evidence of the success of this company and the partnership agreed in September 2019 with Fermetures Ponsardin, an Ardennes-based manufacturer of windows and doors that was looking for a solution with which to automate its products, if possible to be manufactured in the Ardennes.
There is no doubt about it: DDM in Revin - perfectly integrated within the Delta Dore group - has a specific role to play in the Smart Home sector, a new area of competence for French Ardennes.
