The Ardennes gets a Design Centre!

The Ardennes gets a Design Centre! Ardennes Design Industries ADI

11 Ardennes companies from every sector (joinery, founding, packaging, printing, etc.) came together to create a platform for the sharing of information and knowhow on industry, design and service. The project has two objectives: to perpetuate existing businesses and give added value.

The idea came from a meeting between Gauthier Gondel (Fabrimeuble Pro) and Ali Merabti (working in packaging in Belgium). To avoid using subcontractors, they set up a skill-sharing centre in the form of a company, Ardennes Design Industries (ADI).

ADI has set up partnerships with design schools, designers, the IFTS in Charleville-Mézières and the ESAD in Reims. Sixteen students are currently undergoing training within the company and are developing design projects for manufacture. A presentation of 8 ESAD projects will be held on 7 May 2015. In addition, 25 projects from independent designers have been created: the first prototypes should appear next week. A dedicated design space will be established under the name ‘Ardennes Design Academie’. The ambition is to present the first ‘Made in Ardennes’ objects at Paris Design Week in September.

The companies involved in this operation are Fabrimeuble Pro, Carpet’Système, Agencia, Oxygène Et Design, Sopaic, Imprimerie Bricomarché, Aldem, Bana, Rollinger, Rocroyenne d’Aluminium, Sartech Packaging.
