Transport and logistics: French Ardennes at 2017 SITL Trade Show
French Ardennes has an key role to play in Europe from a logistics point of view. It is about its central position in the Paris - Bruxelles – Stuttgart triangle. This area is a labour market with 110 million consumers with high spending power and only half a day driving away.
That was the main assets presented by French Ardennes agency at the 2017 SITL Trade Show (International Week of Transport and Logistics) which took place at Porte de Versailles in Paris from the 14th to the 16th March. The objective was to highlight the department’s main assets (including BER low-tax incentive scheme) as well as the river port (Givet) and road infrastructure that connect us with this dynamic labour market. The new A304 motorway (connecting in near future Amsterdam and Marseille without going via Paris or Luxembourg) was therefore brought to the fore, along with available economic estate areas.
Ardennes Development shared a stand with Aube Développement and Châlons-en-Champagne Agglo. It was under the coordination of ID Champagne-Ardenne, which banner announced “Invest IN Champagne-Ardenne”. Pooling resources together allowed participants to benefit from a highly visible location at the trade show, with good footfall. Working as a team they were also able to better respond numerous enquiries. A cocktail held on the stand gave many visitors an opportunity to sample Ardennes culinary specialities, supplied by the Ardennes Tourism Development Agency (ADT).
Over the three days many new contacts were made with logistics and transport specialists, manufacturers, consultants and training agencies. Meetings have afterwards been arranged to develop these networks in French Ardennes with a view to the new A304 motorway strengthening our connections with Benelux and Northern Europe.
