Ardennes Développement had to be represented at International Transport and Logistics Week (SITL -  Semaine Internationale des Transports et de la Logistique) which took place at Paris Villepinte from 22 to 25 March 2016.

This event, which sets the benchmark in Europe, welcomed around 40,000 participants during a week focussing on the various areas of logistics. The aim of our stand was to promote the Ardennes region and to prospect for investors.

The major event for the Ardennes in the area of logistics is the commissioning of the A304 in 18 months time, a new link in the chain regarding north/south relations for European transport. This region’s latest asset places us as the centre of the most wealthy consumer region in the world, less than 5 hours drive away.

We emphasized this argument during an open workshop we hosted on the afternoon of Thursday 24, entitled “The Ardennes: a new link for the European logistics chain”.

This event was an opportunity to meet with more than fifty contacts, who for the most part had a rather positive overall response upon learning of our region. However, it was also a chance to welcome already identified prospective customers to our stand, and to establish contacts with investors, which should very quickly translate into site visits. In fact, a business relationship has already been established with one haulage company.

Thus, the initial balance sheet from the Ardennes first participation in the SITL is mainly positive, and all that remains is to convert this into concrete business over the coming months.
