PLATINIUM 3D: your go-to for new project builds

Created in 2015, with UIMM and the support of local partners and Grand Est Region, Platinium 3D, the additive manufacturing platform located in French Ardennes region has already helped many companies to industrialise this new process.

Platinium 3D specialises in producing metal parts and is available to all professionals and manufacturers, including companies, public and private laboratories, technical centres, training organisations, and more. The platform has significant technical resources with a fleet of machines with various technologies (six different additive manufacturing techniques are available for industrial-level equipment). Whether it’s for tooling, worn-out parts, large-scale projects and many other fields besides, the Ardennes platform conducts feasibility and pre-industrialisation studies, advises companies about their technology choices, designs demos, models and prototypes, and performs tests, checks and characterisation of the parts that are produced...

It also manages collaborative projects and provides training in additive manufacturing. Its local industrial and scientific network (UIMM training centre, EiSINe, CRITT-MDTS, Materalia, etc.) supports it with its various projects. Last but not least, it can be used to validate production chains using 3D technologies and their entry onto the market, which is how the 3D Métal Industrie company was established in the first place, after its Ardennes-based founders saw the market potential of 3D sand printing. This platform demonstrates how adding an expertly mastered new technology to a traditional production chain can lead to a major increase in productivity

Since March 2020, PLATINIUM 3D is managed by Bruno FLAN, former innovation manager of WHEELABRATOR GROUP (Charleville-Mézières), a world leader in surface preparation technology, mostly for the aeronautics and automotive sectors. His industrial experience will help the company achieve its ambition of working even more with companies.

In recent years, additive manufacturing technologies have revolutionised the industry, so the PLATINIUM 3D platform was created to enable companies in the Ardennes and elsewhere to incorporate this new process and move on to Industry 4.0.
