SEFAC: the industrial solution for rising above the competition
An Ardennes-based company going back a hundred years, SEFAC is the French benchmark in lifting equipment for heavy vehicle maintenance (trains, buses, HGVs, forklift trucks and special vehicles).
Founded in 1884, the Société d'Estampage et de Forge Ardennes Champagne (SEFAC) launched its "lifting" business at the end of the 1960s when it moved to its Monthermé premises. For almost 60 years, it has been designing, manufacturing and distributing increasingly innovative lifting columns. As well as being robust and reliable, thanks to patented technologies, SEFAC columns are also "greener". They generate no waste, consume no oil of any kind (unlike hydraulic systems) and are made from 80% recycled steel.
Since the retirement of Emmanuel De Rohan Chabot in July 2024, the SEFAC group has been run by Nicolas Drapier (the new majority shareholder) with the support of 5 other department directors, all partners, including Valentin Santerre, Industrial Director. The Ardennes-based group has 3 subsidiaries abroad (Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States) and employs over 90 people, including around 60 in French Ardennes. It has a large network of exclusive distributors, giving it a worldwide presence.
SEFAC is the only French manufacturer of lifts for lifting heavy goods vehicles (buses, coaches, lorries, etc.) and rail vehicles (trains, trams, underground trains). Design and production are fully integrated, from the welding of the chassis to the production of the electrical cabinets. It supplies major players in the sector such as Volvo truck and Alstom, and is expanding into the defence market for military vehicles.
Located in the Meuse valley, in the heart of the Ardennes industrial area, SEFAC is constantly improving its production lines to maintain high production standards and promote quality of life at work for its employees. With a new team at the helm, protected skills and strong values, the company continues to promote local manufacturing.
